Egyptian Watermelon Seeds

Egyptian watermelon seed (Citrullus lanatus) from Upper Egypt is supplied whole and roasted. Watermelon seed is a well-established snack and confectionery item across the Middle East, North Africa and Asia, and it is bought principally on size grade, colour uniformity and cleanliness.

Whole raw seed is supplied where the buyer will roast, season or process the material themselves. Roasted seed is supplied where the finished product is required, with the roast profile agreed per contract since it governs both colour and eating quality.

Upper Egypt's irrigated season and dry harvest window allow the seed to be dried quickly, and the crop passes a cleaning sequence with de-stoning, sieving, gravity separation, aspiration and magnetic separation.
