Egyptian Peppermint

Egyptian peppermint (Mentha piperita) from Fayoum is supplied as cut and sifted leaf and as essential oil. Menthol content and aroma strength are what buyers are specifying, and both are decided in the days after cutting: fast, controlled drying preserves the volatile oil, while excessive heat or a slow dry costs it permanently.

Cut and sifted material is screened to an agreed size. For tea bags and blending, consistent particle size governs dosing and extraction rate; for extraction, the buyer's process usually dictates the cut. Where the requirement is the essential oil itself rather than the leaf, we can discuss it against a stated specification.

Peppermint is used in herbal infusions and tea blends, in confectionery and flavouring, in oral-care and personal-care formulation, and in botanical extraction. It is a light, bulky material, so a container fills by volume long before it reaches its weight limit — worth planning for when costing freight, and a case for consolidating with a denser product.
