Egyptian Chamomile

Egyptian chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) from Fayoum is one of the most consistently specified botanicals in the international herbal trade. The Fayoum depression, fed by the Bahr Yussef canal, combines warm days, cool nights and a dry harvest window — conditions that allow the flower to reach full maturity in the field and to be dried quickly, which is what preserves the volatile oil and the pale-gold colour buyers look for.

We supply chamomile as whole flower and as cut and sifted material. Whole flower is specified where the material is visible to the end consumer, as in premium loose-leaf infusions; cut and sifted is screened to an agreed size for tea bags, blending and extraction, where consistent particle size governs dosing and extraction rate.

Buyers use Egyptian chamomile in herbal infusions and tea blends, in botanical extraction for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, and as an ingredient in personal-care formulation. Which parameters matter depends entirely on that end use, so we agree the contractual specification with the buyer rather than publishing a single figure.

Material is cleaned to remove stalk and field debris, and each shipment is accompanied by a certificate of analysis for the lot supplied.
