Egyptian Calendula

Calendula (Calendula officinalis), grown in the Nile Delta, is bought for its colour and for its use in botanical extraction. The commercial value sits in the intensity of the orange-yellow pigment, which is a direct product of harvest timing and of how quickly and gently the flower is dried after picking.

We supply calendula as whole flower and as petals. Whole flower is specified where visual presentation matters, in loose infusions and decorative blends; petals are preferred for extraction, for cosmetic formulation and for applications where the flower head would need to be separated anyway.

Typical applications are botanical extraction for the cosmetic and personal-care industries, herbal infusions and blends, and use as a natural colouring component. Because pigment degrades with heat, light and time, storage conditions after delivery form part of the practical specification as much as the analysis at loading does.

Each shipment carries a lot-specific certificate of analysis, and material is cleaned to remove stalk and field matter before packing.
