Egyptian anise (Pimpinella anisum) from Fayoum is supplied as whole seeds and powder. Anise is bought for its distinctive sweet aroma, driven by an anethole-dominant volatile oil, and Egyptian anise has a long-established position in the international spice and beverage trade.

Whole seed retains aroma far better than ground material and is the preferred form wherever the buyer's process permits grinding close to use. Powder is supplied where required. Buyers should note that anise (Pimpinella anisum) and star anise (Illicium verum) are entirely different botanicals with different profiles and different regulatory treatment — specify the botanical name.

Applications include herbal and digestive teas, bakery and confectionery, spirits and beverage flavouring, spice blends, and botanical extraction for flavour and pharmaceutical use. Demand across the Middle East for traditional preparations is well established and is bought on consistency.

Fayoum's irrigated season and dry harvest window allow rapid drying, which preserves the volatile oil, and the crop passes a cleaning sequence removing stalk, chaff, soil, stones and off-size seed. Volatile oil content can be made a contractual parameter measured on the shipped lot where aroma strength is critical, and crop year can be stated on the certificate of analysis. Specifications are available upon request and can be tailored to buyer requirements. FOB Alexandria, full export documentation, packing discussed per order.
