Product Overview
Egyptian red lentils (Lens culinaris Medik.) from Upper Egypt are valued for their vibrant orange-red color, fast cooking time, and smooth, creamy texture when cooked. Upper Egypt's semi-arid climate and well-drained soils produce lentils with high protein content, uniform seed size, and the bright color that commands premium pricing in Middle Eastern, South Asian, and European markets.
HS Herbs supplies whole red lentils, split red lentils (masoor dal), and husked red lentils. Our lentils are processed through de-stoning, aspiration, milling (for split grades), and optical color sorting to achieve bright, uniform appearance. Each lot is tested for protein, moisture, cooking time, and complete microbiology.
Applications include soup and stew preparations, dal formulations, ready-meal components, canned lentil production, lentil flour milling, and retail dry packing. HS Herbs exports to food processors, legume packers, and distributors across Europe, the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa.
