Product Overview
Egyptian broad beans (Vicia faba L.) are the cornerstone ingredient of Egypt's national dish — foul medames — and Egypt is the world's largest consumer and a major exporter of premium-grade fava beans. Nile Delta-grown broad beans benefit from the region's fertile alluvial soils and temperate winter growing season, producing large, uniform beans with excellent cooking characteristics, high protein content, and the characteristic creamy texture that food processors demand.
HS Herbs supplies broad beans in whole, split, and peeled forms across multiple calibers (7–9mm, 9–11mm, 11mm+). Our beans are mechanically cleaned, de-stoned, size-graded, and optically sorted to achieve consistent color and remove damaged or discolored beans. Each lot is tested for protein content, moisture, cooking time, and complete microbiology.
Applications include canned foul medames production, falafel manufacturing, frozen broad bean processing, soup and stew preparations, and retail dry packing. HS Herbs exports to food canners, processors, and distributors across the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and South America.
