Product Overview
Egyptian chickpeas (Cicer arietinum L.) of the Kabuli type grown in Upper Egypt are prized for their large, round shape, light cream color, and smooth seed coat. These premium characteristics, combined with Egypt's ideal growing conditions — hot, dry climate with well-drained soils — produce chickpeas with high protein content, excellent hydration properties, and the superior cooking texture required for hummus and canned chickpea production.
HS Herbs supplies whole and split Kabuli chickpeas in multiple calibers (7mm, 8mm, 9mm, 10mm+), cleaned through de-stoning, aspiration, and optical color sorting. Each lot is tested for protein content, moisture, hydration coefficient, cooking uniformity, and complete microbiology. We offer both conventional and organic grades.
Applications include hummus and falafel production, canned chickpea processing, salad and ready-meal formulations, chickpea flour milling, snack foods (roasted chickpeas), and retail dry packing. HS Herbs exports to food processors, hummus brands, and legume distributors across Europe, North America, and the Middle East.
