Product Overview
Egyptian nigella seeds (Nigella sativa L.), commonly known as black seed or black cumin, have been cultivated in the Nile Valley for thousands of years. Egyptian-origin nigella seeds are prized for their exceptionally high thymoquinone content — the primary bioactive compound responsible for the seed's well-documented health benefits. Upper Egypt's warm, dry climate produces seeds with intense black color, high fixed oil content, and elevated thymoquinone levels.
HS Herbs supplies whole nigella seeds and cold-pressed nigella seed oil (black seed oil). Our seeds are mechanically cleaned, de-stoned, and optically sorted to ensure uniform black color and remove discolored or immature seeds. Each lot is tested for thymoquinone content, fixed oil percentage, moisture, and full microbiology. We offer food-grade and pharmaceutical-grade specifications.
Applications include bakery toppings (naan bread, bagels, Turkish breads), spice blends (panch phoron), cold-pressed oil supplements, nutraceutical capsules, traditional medicine preparations, and cosmetic formulations. HS Herbs exports Egyptian nigella seeds to health food companies, bakeries, and supplement manufacturers worldwide.
